Pussy pops, Flashmobs, and Delirious Vaginas

HELLO wonderful people who wish to end violence against women and girls!

Work with the Monologues has kicked into high gear with our show only ONE WEEK away! February felt so far away at our last blog post in November, but here it is upon us! So, what have we been up to since our most recent post? Well...

We took a break during Winter Holiday for the girls to visit businesses, learn lines, and make plans for the show. Since coming back, we've blocked the show, sold baked goods named after genitalia, and gotten support from students groups on campus and the Boulder community alike. We've bonded through baking, hyped up the show, and rallied around line learning and publicity plans.

This Saturday/Sunday we'll put out a publicity stunt of sorts and hope to see you all there. We've worked hard together to figure out the best way to get our peers' attention at the closing of the bars on Pearl and want to see you there!

So, what's in store for us the final week before our show? TICKETS GO ON SALE! Starting Monday, February 7th, students and community members alike can acquire tickets at the UMC Connection, located on the first floor of the University Memorial Center on the CU Boulder campus. The recommended student donation is $5 in advance and $7 at the door, while community members pay $11 in advance and $13 at the door. WE SELL OUT QUICKLY, so make sure you get your tickets soon!

Want to keep supporting us?! Stop by one of our bakesales this week, OR stop and say hello when we're tabling in the UMC!

The Bakesales are:
Monday (2/7) and Tuesday (2/8) for one final push to raise awareness about the show and supply you all with delicious baked goods. And really, who doesn't love cupcakes?! Pussy pops will be also be sold!

We'll be tabling in the UMC:

Wednesday (2/9), Thursday (2/10), and Friday (2/11). Stop by to say hello, pick up some free condoms, and draw a picture of your own vagina.

IT'S GO TIME, LADIES AND GENTS! The cast and crew are putting in long hours every night, making sure everything is perfect and ready to go by performance time.

Come see all the hard work we've put in while also helping end violence against women and girls.

LOVE.

Snowfall, Dildos, and Lovely Vaginas.

It's official: there is now a group of 17 gorgeous, talented women ready to help end violence against women and girls! It's not all over, however; between now and mid-February, these lovely ladies are going to be knocking on business, selling baked goods in the arctic tundra (also read: Boulder in winter), celebrating dildos via sex toy parties, and doing their part in the community to raise awareness for the cause.

The question is, who doesn't love meeting new business owners, advertising cunt cakes, playing with sex toys, and having an excuse to wander around Pearl St? No one! (That's who). In other words, get involved. Come roam laugh and sell and share and cry and BE with us.

The first official meeting of the 2011 V-Day Warriors will be held Wednesday, December 1st from 7:00-9:00pm in UMC Room 425. See you there!
